I'll never forget my 8th birthday. My grandma made an incredible train-shaped cake with 5 or 6 long cakes linked together—enough to feed my entire classroom, who somehow all squeezed onto our front porch. After the singing, playing, and wishing, it was finally time for presents. I got some great ones, but my eyes were glued to the big box in the corner. I knew what it was. I had been begging my parents for a Rambo action figure, complete with all the weapons from the movie.

With trembling hands, I tore open the box—and there it was… a "RANBO" doll. Clearly fake. Clearly cheap. I tried to act cool, but the laughter from my classmates was impossible to ignore. I was never angry at my mom for getting me that doll, She had no idea it was fake, These products are designed to attract well intentioned mothers and aunts who just want to make a birthday boy happy.
